About Us

The foundation of Asha Modern School was laid on 1st July, 1966 by – Late Shri Bishal Chand Jain, an eminent personality of the city, a great philanthropist, prominent social worker and educationist, and by his wife Late Smt. Sushila Jain – a great visionary.

The school has covered a remarkable journey since its inception. The legacy of imparting quality education to the children of Saharanpur has been efficiently carried forward by Miss Asha Jain, the Founder Principal and currently Manager of Asha Modern School. A proud recipient of many awards and accolades, she has risen to an iconic status in the education and social circles of Saharanpur. Inspite of her physical disability she never gave up and utilized her inner strength to become a source of inspiration to many, teaching others how to win over all odds. Hindustan Times has hailed her as the Iron Lady of Saharanpur. Currently through her dedication, vision and guidance Asha Modern School boasts of SIX sister branches with a total strength of 7000+ students. Under her able guidance, the school proudly boasts of having an alumni base of 15,000+ students serving the nation in different fields including Civil Services, Doctors, IIT Professionals, C.A.’s , Defence Services, Corporate Sector and even in the High Commission. 

Dr. Divya Jain, the current Principal of Asha Modern School, is well qualified, dedicated dynamic, has leadership skills and above all is a visionary. He is adaptive to the changing scenario and has implemented innovative changes in the school. He is highly revered and has created a powerful community of learners among students as well as teaching staff. The techno savvy Principal has become the youngest Principal to have won the ‘100 Best Principals Award – 2016’. Apart from others he has been felicitated by Hon’ble former President of India, Late Shri Pranab Mukherjee for winning the First Prize for the Best School, under Transforming Education Awards organised by Lovely Professional University. Besides this, he has bagged the Youngest Principal of the Year Award in April 2018 under  KAT Excellence Awards 2018 organised by Khabre Abhi Tak where he was felicitated by the then Education Minister of Haryana.

He has also been felicitated with the best Principal Award 2019 by Mr Ashish Chauhan, MD & CEO Bombay Stock Exchange – Mumbai on 11 April 2019.Last but not the least, he was also awarded as Visionary Leader of the Year 2019 by Saharanpur Institute of Advanced Studies.

His ‘Go Green’ initiative has been strictly implemented in the school. Asha Modern School has also won the Green School Award. Smooth running of any organisation depends on the right leadership. It is said ‘A leader must see a future that is not yet here’. Dr. Divya Jain visualises the future potential, communicates it effectively to others enabling innovative changes in the school.

‘DISCIPLINE’ has been the key word and is still encouraged among students in Asha Modern School. Besides achieving excellence in academics, our talented students have proved themselves in extra – curricular activities time and again. Some have even participated and excelled in multiple TV Talent Reality shows like Indian Idol, Sa Re Ga Ma Pa and reached significant levels. Some have even proved themselves in Dancing and Acting at various levels. Extra – Curricular activities are promoted in Asha Modern School. Physical Education is a part of school activities. Asha Modern School provides training to students in many sports and games like Judo, Badminton, Volleyball, Basketball, Cricket and Football. Sports provide our students a platform to learn team spirit, gain confidence, be healthy, positive and become physically and mentally active. Values are inculcated in the students and they are also encouraged to develop quality of leadership.

Various dignitaries from India and abroad have visited Asha Modern School from time to time. Modernites still cherish the visit of Mother Teresa who showered her blessings on the school.

Asha Modern School has a sound infrastructure, excellent Management, well qualified faculty which is the foundation of its success. Asha Modern School has by far the lowest Teacher attrition rate in the city. The students are offered the widest possible opportunity to specialize in their chosen field of interest. State of the art laboratories, well-equipped library with a collection of more than 15000 books and a team of dedicated and experienced staff enable the students to move in the right direction. A safe and secure environment is provided to students through CCTV cameras operating in the campus. We have proudly been managing the responsibility of CBSE City Co-ordinator and District Training Co-ordinator for around 120 CBSE school in District Saharanpur.

Asha Modern School is a Senior Secondary Co-Educational School affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education, New Delhi. The medium of instruction is English. The humble beginnings with a mere handful of children led to colossal heights as we see Asha Modern School today with above 3000 students. A wide range of curricular and co-curricular activities are provided for the all-round development of the students. Many students have achieved meritorious positions in the CBSE examinations and have
added to the honor of this school. In the last 50 years Asha Modern School has produced a galaxy of eminent young men and women who have brought glory to it, not only in India but abroad as well.
